2015DBRP_123back-in-Siloam

Hi everyone!

We are back from our trip to Grand Rapids, MI, and Stillman Valley, IL. Alas! No one from the DBRP listeners contacted me, and no one in the congregation seemed to know about this part of what I do. But now 3-4 from the congregation there have downloaded the DBRP app and said they would be listening. We are so thankful for Berean Baptist, as it is our most engaged and most supporting church. Their mission conference was entitled The Word for the World, and that was the theme of my message on Sunday morning, the 19th of April. I included an overview about what God is doing through our ministry in Indonesia. If you would like to listen, here is the LINK. Or the church’s web site is bereangr.org, and the mission conference message are on the Sermons page.

We have just sent out an update that gives three of our prayer requests. The first request is about our need for a better car. The other two are nothing-is-impossible requests for our mission in Indonesia. I have posted a copy at the Digging Deeper forum.

Here are Ben’s Digging Deeper Challenge questions for this week (Days 123 thru 129):

Joshua:  In this week's readings we find Joshua's challenge. How would you explain Joshua 24:31 in light of Israel's past history?

Judges: How long did it take for Israel to go after other gods?

* Psalm: Psalm 78:1-6 How do these verses instruct us concerning our children and grandchildren? Did this have any bearing on Israel's apostasy?

*Acts: Chapter 28,  Paul testifies of the Kingdom, concerning Jesus, from the law and the prophets. Some believed. Why do you think others did not believe?

*Galatians: Concerning the other passages we read this week, why is it still necessary to teach/review the Law with our children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors?

Ben and Twila’s daughter, Kara, has a really neat blog called Rooted Families, and Ben has a post there called “Tell the Old, Old Stories.” This blog has many other helpful and encouraging articles for parents and grand-parents.
