Thanks to two special readers in today’s episode. The first is our daughter Rachel, who at the time last year when this was recorded was preparing to go to East Africa with Pioneer Bible Translators. She is there now, doing great, and we are so proud of her. The second is Chad Mann, who is the minister of youth at our church. Chad reads the part of Zophar in Job 11.
In chapter 19 of Genesis we heard what happened to Lot and his
daughters after being saved from Sodom. That is the start of
the hated Moabite and Ammonite races.
Translation notes:
17 But God heard the boy crying, and [an//the] angel of God
called to Hagar from heaven, “Hagar, what’s wrong? Do not
be afraid! God has heard the boy crying as he lies there.
26 “This is the first I’ve heard of it,” Abimelech answered.
“I have no idea who is responsible. You [0/have] never
complained about this before.”

We turn to Job 11. In chapter 10, Job accused God,
“‘Yet your real motive—
your true intent—
14 was to watch me, and if I sinned,
you would not forgive my guilt.
15 If I am guilty, too bad for me;
and even if I’m innocent, I can’t hold my head high,
because I am filled with shame and misery.
...
18 “‘Why, then, did you deliver me from my mother’s
womb?

Yesterday's reading in Mark 6 was of Jesus feeding 5,000+ and walking on water.
